Due to the winter storm warning and accompanying icy/snowy roads, we have rescheduled the Toys for Tots archery tournament to Sunday, December 15, from 9-11 a.m. at Bwana Archery. This is the second to last day for Toys for Tots donations.
The final deadline for Socks of Love donations is earlier: please bring your Socks donations to Baroness Caoilfhionn at fight practice on Tuesday, Dec. 3, or to the Wednesday meeting on Dec. 4 at GPS, or message her directly at baroness@nordskogen.org to arrange another handoff.
Gift Suggestions for Holiday Socks of Love
Holiday Socks of Love provides holiday stockings filled with small gifts for Minnesota kids in foster care. Choose gifts that will fit into a stocking such as card games, markers or crayons, Play-Doh, gift cards, socks, ear buds, Mad Libs and kids’ books. Skinny paperbooks can be rolled to fit. Small board books and cds (music or audiobooks) should also fit.
Gift Suggestions for Toys for Tots
We are once again emphasizing Toys for Tots donations for the youngest and oldest age brackets (babies and teens), as they are the most typically under-donated groups. Toddler books and toys are very welcome. For teens, Toys for Tots suggests sporting equipment, bags, and balls; books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers. Music CDs of popular teen music are also a fun idea. CDs from the “Now that’s what I call Music” series are a safe bet.
Realistic-looking weapons and gifts with food will not be accepted by Toys for Tots.
Thanks for your patience, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
